The Blackett Institute occupies the former monastery of San Domenico and is one of the historic venues of the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture.
The Erice centre became a place for international scientific dialogue during the Cold War and has since hosted more than 130 postgraduate schools, around 160,000 students and many internationally renowned researchers, including 158 Nobel laureates.
